It began in the Spring of 2009, I had just met my one true love Cindy, and we began a courteous, distant dating. I was still on active duty (Army) but was close to retirement. Stationed in Indiana PA at the local Reserve Center as Active duty, was a challenge in and of itself. I retired 2014, full honors, decorated from combat theater. We settled in, and began our life together, with our 3 kids. two from my former marriage, one from her former marriage. We made it work. Along the way, Cindy thought it would be a great idea if she volunteered at the local animal shelter. Formerly known as the county shelter. I agreed it would be a great idea. Further along the way, the boss at the non county shelter suggested Cindy actually become an employee of said establishment. We agreed, she would work well there. Her Boss Susan hired her and she began working there. Things were going along well, then Susan mentioned she (Susan, and the County) could use another Humane Police Officer, due to all the calls being received at this shelter and others in the area. Cindy described my military and security background to Susan and asked if I was interested in becoming a Humane Police Officer. (Circa late 2020 at this point). I had not really thought about it much, but with my being attached to a Military Police unit during my service and currently working at the local hospital as armed security, I agreed. If the county needed an HPO, I would be (am) totally comfortable in that position.
Fast forward to becoming an HPO working for the non county shelter: I graduated from Humane Officer Academy training with an A- average, not to bad for a non academic, in my opine. I digress. I started to work for Susan as an HPO, and received calls that came into the shelter of abuse, neglect and/or cruelty. Mind you, a caveat here, I was originally hired as the shelter maintenance manager, and afforded only 16 hours a week to do that (4 hours a day, starting on Mondays), so, there wasn't a whole lot of time to address HPO cases. I did what I could with the time allotted. Susan, originally promised (yes promised) to support me as a new HPO with an office to work from. I set up shop, with six puppy pugs, and their mom, in the former executive directors office (pugs needed to be isolated, due to a cruelty case pending). I didnt mind, those guys were a lot of fun. But, come to find out, that was not to be my office, and I was told that it was by Susan, so I wouldn't quit. The office Susan said I could use as an office, was the maintenance closet. It had its own entrance around the back of the building. I asked Susan if I were going to attain an office of regular standard at any time, Susan said, that the maintenance closet was my office. I then asked her for the key to the back entrance of the "office", in case I had to get a ladder or tools, or equipment outside, without trapsing through the main lobby during normal working hours. It was said and suggested to judge, that I requested this key to the back door for preferential treatment of some insane sort....yes, preferential treatment to a maintenance closet. Indeed. Get the record straight, or make up a better lie.
Next, moving on: It has been told to a court, and to others in our line of work (Humane Policing, and shelters), that I was a "serious liability, and some things couldn't be disclosed" about me, and that I was fired from the non county shelter for, "hiding in bushes and things and watching peoples houses", whatever any of that means. In court, one of the non shelter board members confessed to the fact I wasn't ever fired, and had quit of my own volition, due to the fact that Susan is a complete and utter manipulator and liar. Oh, and Susan also stated ,"He (myself) had been claiming he is a Humane Police Officer and he certainly is NOT". None of any of the stories told on text, or in court, or about us her at ATR are true folks. Very elaborate to protect their own small interests, but false none the less. These are the words of a sociopath my friends. Susan says she cares about animals above all else. Elmer (the board member who lied for Susan in court) says its all about the animals...These folks don't seem to show they care about anything but themselves, their cronies, their donations, and the club they have formed against doing the right thing, or those that may surpass them in any and every way. All the non county folks have is lies about us. Ask anyone we have helped over the past year, they will agree with us.
In the past year of our (ATR) existence, we have had no complaints, no violations, no anything, other than praise for the job we have done, despite the obstacles from embedded old, cranky lying sociopaths in our path to help animals. As well as no one having any proof, documentation or anything stating anything these folks have said. Its just very sad people would stoop to a level that these folks did, to prevent another from helping others and animals.
Record at the non county shelter: 55 cases total, 45 resolved or closed (rectified). 2.5 months as HPO
OUR (ATR) RECORD TO DATE:
Approximately 40-45 cat dog bovine and equestrian rescues (can see in the gallery here on the site)
2 successful court prosecutions for neglect and cruelty. (As civilian volunteer business)
